How
much data can I transfer overnight?
With a standard DSL connection, a small business computer network can effectively
transfer about one gigabyte of data (1000 megabytes) in about 8-10 hours.
We recommend overnight transmission according to our Remote
Data Backup Best Practices.
How is my data
kept secure?
Before a single byte of your data is transmitted over the Internet, an
encrypted, self extracting archive is compiled from the designated backup
files. Using a unique password, known only to you and our security officer
(if you choose), a 256-bit encryption key (about 6 times stronger than
standard 40-bit Secure Web Browser encryption) scrambles your data before
transmission, making it nearly impossible to decode in transit to our
storage network. You are provided with a separate account on our storage
network servers with password protected access. All transmissions to and
from your storage network server account are logged. The storage network
server is housed in our alarmed, access-restricted data center.
How quickly can
my data be restored?
Depending on your chosen backup method and the availability of replacement
computer hardware with the same operating system, your backup archive
can be downloaded and reinstalled on the same day as your data loss occurs!
For time critical needs, we offer our InstantAxxess Recovery Service,
with priority delivery of a new replacement computer system, with your
specified operating system and critical operations installed, data fully
restored.
